BLM Idaho invites public to give the gift of experiencing Idaho’s treasured public lands this holiday season

BOISE, Idaho – The Bureau of Land Management invites Idaho residents and visitors to celebrate the wonders of their public lands this holiday season by participating in BLM Idaho’s Super 75 Challenge which commemorates the agency’s 75 anniversary. The challenge highlights 75 of the most scenic and fascinating destinations on Idaho’s public lands while educating participants about Idaho’s history and BLM programs.

It was 75 years ago today, On December 10, 1946, that President Harry S. Truman signed the Reorganization Plan No. 3 of 1946 which officially merged the General Land Office with the U.S. Grazing Service, creating the Bureau of Land Management. Today, the BLM manages nearly 12 million acres of public land in Idaho for a variety of conservation, restoration, and commercial uses. This holiday season, give the gift of experiencing Idaho’s treasured public lands. There are four sets of sites and events in BLM Idaho’s Super 75 Challenge that correspond to the BLM Districts in Idaho. When participants complete one or more sets of sites and events, they may bring or send their Checklist to any BLM office in the state and receive a reward depending on how many challenges they complete. There is no time limit to complete one or all of the four sets of sites and events.
