BLM Colorado selects Abdelgadir Elmadani as Deputy State Director Energy, Lands, and Minerals

LAKEWOOD, Colo. –Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado State Office welcomes Abdelgadir (AG) Elmadani as the new Deputy State Director for Energy, Lands, and Minerals. Elmadani joins the Colorado State Office from the California State Office where he was the Associate Deputy State Director for Fluids and Minerals. 

" I am looking forward to leading the team of professionals in BLM Colorado and contributing to what makes our public lands great while serving the American public” said Elmadani. 

 As Deputy State Director, Elmadani will oversee renewable and non-renewable energy programs as well as lands and realty actions. 

 “We are looking forward to benefitting from AG’s expertise on our BLM Colorado leadership team” said BLM Colorado State Director Doug Vilsack. “With his qualifications and experience he will provide critical leadership in our energy, lands and minerals programs and foster relationships with partners around the state.” 

 Elmadani holds degrees in Petroleum Engineering and International Politics from Pennsylvania State University. Elmadani is a proud member of the BLM Leadership Academy Class of 2023. AG is married with three children. In his off time, he enjoys spending time with family hiking, horseback riding, biking, and playing soccer.
