ANCHORAGE – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) will host an open house at the Campbell Creek Science Center on Thursday, May 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to provide information on the realignment of the entrance to the Campbell Tract.

The BLM is proposing to relocate the Campbell Tract entrance roadway approximately 260 feet north to align with the intersection of East 68th Ave, while the DOT&PF is upgrading the intersection to accommodate the new entry.  Design alternatives are currently being developed that will provide connections to the existing roads leading to the Campbell Creek Science Center and the BLM offices.

The DOT&PF wants to hear from the public to learn what features are important to users of the Campbell Tract.  Maintaining access to the trailheads in the area is a priority for the project team.

The entrance to the BLM Campbell Tract is located near 68th Avenue and Elmore Road, and the Campbell Creek Science Center is at 5600 Science Center Dr.
