Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM Colorado announces two-week public room closure and new location on the Denver Federal Center

The Bureau of Land Management Colorado State Office is announcing a two-week closure of the Andy Senti Public Lands Information Center currently located at Building 1A on the Denver Federal Center beginning on July 18.

BLM announces seasonal fire restrictions for North Coast public lands

ARCATA, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management is issuing fire restrictions for public lands in Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, and Mendocino counties beginning Thursday, July 3. These seasonal fire restrictions listed in the fire order will be in place to help prevent wildfire and will remain in effect until further notice. These restrictions are in addition to the BLM year-round statewide fire prevention order also in effect until further notice.

Stage 1 fire restrictions begin Tuesday, July 1 for all public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Tres Rios Field Office within the boundaries of Archuleta, Dolores, Hinsdale, La Plata, Montezuma, San Juan, San Miguel, and the of Canyon of the Ancients National Monument.

Due to increased fire danger, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions will begin Tuesday July 1, 2025, in northeast Nevada.

The Bureau of Land Management today approved copper exploration across approximately 1,324 total public acres for up to three years near Mammoth in Pinal County.

BLM to conduct Muddy Creek wild horse gather in Emery County

Due to drought and overpopulation, BLM will begin an emergency wild horse gather in the Muddy Creek HMA on July 10 to protect horse and habitat health. Public tours available.

BLM rescinds emergency fire closure of Marion Creek Falls Trail north of Coldfoot, Alaska

The BLM Central Yukon Field Office rescinded the fire closure order that temporarily closed the Marion Creek Falls Trail at the Marion Creek Campground, mile 180 of the Dalton Highway.

$7,000 reward offered for information on killing of young horse

A total reward of $7,000 is offered for information leading to arrest and conviction of those who killed a foal in Mono County, California. This includes $2,000 from the Bureau of Land Management and $5,000 from American Wild Horse Conservation.
