Mendocino Complex Fires

The Mendocino Complex fire included the River Fire and the Ranch Fire, both which started on July 27, 2018, in Mendocino County. The River Fire impacted approximately 48,900 acres, including 29,767 acres of BLM-managed public lands. The Ranch Fire impacted more than 410,000 acres, including about 30,000 acres of BLM lands. The Cow Mountain Recreation Management Area sustained heavy fire damage and remains closed. A Burned Area Emergency Response team has completed an assessment of the damage to federal lands and rehabilitation needs. A public meeting to share that information and gather input is scheduled for Sept. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the Ukiah Valley Conference Center.
