Event Description

The Bureau of Land Management will offer wild horses for adoption or purchase through its Online Corral website Feb. 9–16, 2026, with animals available for pickup in Boise, Idaho, or Reno, Nevada. The event features wild horses gathered from public lands to maintain healthy herds and healthy rangelands.

Animals adopted or purchased during this event will be available for pickup either on March 6 at the Boise Wild Horse Off-Range Corral, or Feb. 26–27 at the Palomino Valley Wild Horse and Burro Adoption Center in Reno. Pickup locations for each animal are noted on its profile page.

The Online Corral is the BLM’s internet-based platform where prospective adopters and purchasers can browse photos, videos and details about available wild horses and burros, submit applications, and adopt an animal – all from the comfort of their home. The Feb. 9-16 event is a fixed-price event, which means animals can be adopted or purchased by approved bidders with a $125 fee on a first-come, first-served basis; no bidding required.

To participate in the online event, the public can visit the BLM’s Online Corral, create an account and submit an application for approval. To browse available animals, users can navigate to the Animals gallery, click the Adopt or Buy Now purchase method, then click Search.

Interested participants are encouraged to submit an application as early as possible to become approved in time adopt or purchase before the deadline on Feb. 16. Detailed requirements for adopters and purchasers are available on the BLM’s website.
