BLM reevaluates Muddy Mountain Road closure, keeps road open until further notice
CASPER, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management has reevaluated its decision to close Muddy Mountain Road on Dec. 2 following an assessment of weather forecasts for the Casper area. The road will remain open until further notice.
The decision, initially made to ensure public safety, was reconsidered in light of updated weather forecasts that call for minimal precipitation over the next week.
“We understand the importance of access to public lands and are committed to making informed decisions that ensure public safety and resource protection,” says Larry Sandoval, Casper Field Office Manager. “Folks will have some additional time to venture out hunting or to harvest a Christmas tree before the holidays.”
The BLM will continue to monitor weather and road conditions, and updates on the status of Muddy Mountain Road will be announced as information becomes available.
