ROSWELL, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will increase fees starting July 1, 2025, at Rob Jaggers Campground and Valley of Fires Recreation Area in Lincoln County, and the Haystack Mountain and Mescalero Sands North Dune off-highway vehicle areas near Roswell. The fee adjustments aim to address the costs associated with maintaining and improving facilities and infrastructure necessary to support a growing number of visitors.

At the campgrounds in Lincoln County, RV camping fees will cost $25 per night; camping fees with horse corral access at Rob Jaggers will cost $30 per night; tent camping at Valley of Fires will cost $15 per night; the dump station fee at Valley of Fires will cost $30 or be included in camping fees; at Valley of Fires the daily cost for use of a group campsite will be $35; a new site-specific annual pass at Valley of Fires will cost $30; and the fees for all day-use single vehicles at Valley of Fires will be $5.

At the OHV areas, the fees for all day-use single vehicles with up to nine occupants will be $5; camping with no hookups, a new fee, will cost $10 per night; camping with hookups, a new fee, would cost $20 per night; once the BLM constructs a newly established dump station at Haystack there will be a $30 dump station charge; and once the BLM constructs a newly established group shelter at Haystack there will be a $25 a day fee.

The Southern New Mexico Resource Advisory Council approved the fee changes after careful consideration at a meeting in January 2025. Find the full business plans here: www.blm.gov/programs/recreation/permits-and-fees/business-plans.
