Wickersham Creek Trail Shelter

Wickersham Creek Trail Shelter was constructed in 1975 by the Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) and the BLM, and is an 8 ft x 10 ft log building that sleeps 2 people. It has a woodstove, cook counter, cook stove, lantern and one bunk bed. The shelter is 11 miles from the Wickersham Dome Trailhead, offers emergency shelter, and is at the junction of the Wickersham Creek Trail and the Moose Creek trail. The shelter is first come-first serve and is free of charge.

Access is mainly in the winter months and not suitable for hiking in the summer.

Directions

From the Wickersham Dome Trailhead at milepost 28 on the Elliott Highway, follow the Wickersham Creek Trail for 11 miles to the trail shelter.
