BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM Redding Field Office Ease Seasonal Fire Restrictions

The Bureau of Land Management, in coordination with the U.S. Wildland Fire Service, has eased fire restrictions, effective Thursday, Oct. 1, on public lands managed by the Redding Field Office. Fire restrictions were initiated on June 24 to curb the wildfire risk. Recreational target shooting and campfires are once again allowed on public lands with a valid campfire permit, unless otherwise posted.

The BLM and the U.S. Wildland Fire Service will begin prescribed burning throughout Oregon and Washington as weather, fuel, and air quality become favorable. Operations will continue throughout the fall and winter.
