Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM New Mexico to combat invasive grasses with aerial herbicide treatments

Starting in the last 2 weeks of Sept., the BLM will conduct an herbicide application using aerial drones to reduce the spread of Cheatgrass, noxious weeds, and wildfire fuels across 330 acres of the Cerro de la Olla.

BLM plans prescribed burns in Grant County to reduce hazardous fuels

The Bureau of Land Management Las Cruces District is preparing to strategically implement a150-acre prescribed burn project from Sept. 22 through Oct. 31 to reduce hazardous fuels in the vicinity of the community of Pinos Altos in Grant County, pending suitable conditions.
