BLM Seeks Input on U.S. Army Withdrawal Application at Fort Sill
NORMAN, Okla. —The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment for a U.S. Army withdrawal application of transfer approximately 10 acres of public land at Fort Sill, near Lawton, in Comanche County, Okla., to the U.S. Army for military purposes for 20 years. If approved, the lands would be available for mineral leasing, subject to valid and existing rights.
A notice published in today’s Federal Register to open a 90-day public comment period and announce the opportunity to request a public meeting. Comments and public meeting requests may be delivered to: BLM Oklahoma Field Office, ATTN: Christopher Langstaff, 201 Stephenson Parkway, Norman, OK 73072. If a public meeting is scheduled, the BLM will publish the date, time, and location in the Federal Register, local newspapers, and the BLM New Mexico website at least 30 days before the scheduled public meeting. The comment period will close Dec. 21, 2026.
