BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

BLM Announces Seasonal Fire Restrictions on Northwest California Public Lands

REDDING, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management, in coordination with the US Wildland Fire Service, is issuing fire restrictions for public lands in Shasta, Tehama, Butte, Siskiyou and Trinity counties beginning Sunday, June 28. These seasonal fire restrictions listed in the fire order will be in place to help prevent wildfire and will remain in effect until further notice. These restrictions are in addition to the year-round statewide fire prevention order.

BISHOP, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management, in coordination with the US Wildland Fire Agency, is issuing fire restrictions for all BLM managed lands in Inyo, Mono, and portions of Alpine counties effective Monday, June 22, due to dry conditions and wildland fire danger. These seasonal restrictions are in addition to the year-round statewide fire prevention order. This seasonal fire order will remain in effect until further notice.

BLM approves broadband communications site in Morongo Valley

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management approved the application for the Morongo Canyon Highway 62 Multi-Tenant Wireless Broadband Communications Site project on just over an acre of public land near Morongo Valley in San Bernardino County. The project will improve telecommunication and broadband connections for Morongo and Yucca Valley communities.
