Idaho Pollinators

Native plants and pollinators go hand in hand and are one of the best examples of biological mutualism. BLM manages pollinators through the National Strategy To Promote the Health of Honey Bees and Other Pollinators. In Idaho, partnerships to benefit pollinators abound: from local school and park pollinator gardens, to milkweed mapping efforts for the Monarch Butterfly. BLM Idaho also has on-going projects focusing on native bees including a USGS study examining the effects of post-fire rehabilitation projects on native bees, and a cooperative BLM and Forest Service project surveying for native bee species in Areas of Critical Environmental Concern and Research Natural Areas.
