Salem, Ore. – Improvements are being made at the Bureau of Land Management’s Sandy Ridge Trailhead, including new asphalt to help expand the parking area, which will provide additional parking spaces, some with tailgate bump-outs. All trails will remain open during construction activities.  This improvement will help serve the American family by being good neighbors, supporting traditional land uses such as grazing, and providing access to hunting, fishing, and other recreational opportunities.

“We appreciate the public’s understanding as we make these improvements to better visitors’ experiences at this sought after mountain biking destination,” said Jose Linares, BLM Northwest Oregon District Manager.

Due to safety concerns, access will be limited at the trailhead during construction. Construction is expected to occur periodically from February 13th to the 16th. Visitors are encouraged to use alternate means of transport such as shuttle buses, carpooling, or drop-offs, as there will be minimal parking available. Please do not block the gate to Homestead Road to allow for emergency and administrative vehicle access.
