Kremmling Field Office opens foot access to BLM lands not burned in East Troublesome Fire

KREMMLING, Colo. – The Kremmling Field Office reduced the size of the East Troublesome Fire emergency area closure today, opening unburned BLM lands outside of the mapped fire perimeter.
“BLM lands outside of the fire perimeter are now open for walk-in public access, just in time for fourth rifle season,” said Kremmling Field Manager Bill Mills. “Hunters should be aware that personnel are still working in the fire area as conditions allow, and they may not be wearing blaze orange. Please be certain of your target.”
Roads remain gated and/or closed to motorized vehicles with walk-in access only between road closures and the fire perimeter.
Since October 14, the East Troublesome Fire scorched over 193,000 acres of National Forest, BLM, National Park, state, and private lands, becoming Colorado’s second-largest wildfire.
