ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Bureau of Land Management is celebrating the inclusion of Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places of 2025. This list, featuring 100 worldwide destinations, was released March 13, 2025.
Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument is a popular geologic hiking destination for visitors worldwide, featuring unique tapering hoodoos that vary in height from a few feet up to 90 feet. The monument includes two segments of national recreation trails that provide opportunities for hiking, birdwatching, geologic observation, and plant identification.
“The monument is a special place that BLM and Pueblo de Cochiti worked diligently together to reopen after being closed since the pandemic,’” said BLM Albuquerque District Manager Sabrina Flores. “This special place provides a cherished visitor experience. It’s an honor to be recognized throughout the world as one of the greatest.”
Additional details regarding fees, closures, and other visitation information are available on the Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument webpage. Visitation is via reservation only at recreation.gov. A limited number of passes are available each day.
