Fire Restrictions Rescinded in the Bureau of Land Management Green River District

VERNAL, Utah – The Bureau of Land Management Green River District will rescind Fire Restriction Order-UTG002-18-001, effective 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, 2018. Fire restrictions will no longer be in effect on BLM-managed lands located in Uintah and Duchesne counties.
Seasonal monsoon moisture has moderated wildfire behavior and activity. The public is reminded that we are still in fire season and vegetation will once again dry out as fall approaches.
Public lands users are encouraged to keep a shovel, bucket and water, or a fire extinguisher nearby when recreating outdoors. Campfires and vehicles are two of the primary causes of preventable fires in our area. Always drown and stir fires to ensure they are dead out before leaving a camp or day-use site and to keep vehicles in good working order. Human-caused fires and wildfire acres burned in this part of the State were higher than previous years.
Other areas in the State of Utah are still in fire restrictions. Fire Prevention Order UT910-14-001 is permanently in effect for all BLM lands in the State of Utah and prohibits the use/discharge of any kind of fireworks, explosives, incendiary, chemical devices, pyrotechnics and exploding targets.
