The Bureau of Land Management Moab Field Office is seeking public comments on an environmental assessment (EA) analyzing proposed improvements to the Power Dam Parking Area, used by visitors hiking the Mill Creek Trail near Moab, Utah.

The BLM proposes redesigning the Power Dam parking area located at the end of Power House Lane, to make it easier for cars to enter and exit.  In addition, the parking spaces would be reconfigured, adding seven parking spots to the existing 28 spaces.  Fencing and barriers would delineate the parking spaces.

The BLM strives to be a good neighbor in the communities we serve.  This parking area is near town and we are actively seeking ways to improve this popular trailhead for visitors and local residents.  BLM values your input, which will aid us in finalizing the analysis and making this decision.

The EA, including diagrams of the proposed changes, is available for public review and comment via the ePlanning website:  https://go.usa.gov/xnT75.    The most effective comments address concerns specific to the analysis and the specific project.  Written comments will be accepted through Nov. 23, 2017.  Please reference “Power Dam Parking Area” when submitting comments.
