KREMMLING, Colo. — The Bureau of Land Management’s Kremmling Field Office staff reminds public land users to recreate responsibly, respect gates, area closures and notices. BLM staff recently identified significant damage to gates and locks that protect sensitive big game winter range during seasonal closures. Visiting and recreating on BLM managed public lands offer a variety of outdoor opportunities and the BLM relies on public land users to act as stewards of their public lands.

“The nicer weather brings more individuals out to recreate on public lands and we want everyone to enjoy themselves. Visit with respect and follow any closure notices. Respecting area closures is an important part of safe and responsible recreation on your public land,” said Stephen Leonard, Kremmling Field Office Manager. “Vandalism on public lands can result in fines and/or jail time. Please help us take care of these amazing resources so that everyone can enjoy them.”

BLM asks users of public lands to abide by area closures and not attempt to remove locks or damage gates to access closed areas. Vandalism can be reported to 800-637-9152. For additional information about seasonal wildlife closures and to learn more about recreational opportunities on BLM managed public lands please contact the Kremmling Field Office at 970-724-3000 or visit the field office at 2103 E. Park Avenue.
