COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho– In partnership with the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises, the Bureau of Land Management is pleased to once again offer an eagle watch cruise for military veterans, active duty personnel and their families.

The cruise is planned for Saturday, Dec. 2 at 12:30 pm.  Participants will have a birds-eye view of our national symbol, the bald eagle, in flight above Lake Coeur d’Alene and perched on public lands near Mineral Ridge.

This event is offered free of charge to veterans, active duty personnel and their families who have never participated on the cruises before.  Because only one cruise is being offered this year, the BLM asks prior year participants to please refrain from calling so that others can have an opportunity to attend this popular event.  Reservations are required and the group size is limited to six people.

Reservations will only be taken on Friday, Nov. 17, beginning at 8:30 a.m., until filled.  Reservations are not taken in advance and are only taken by calling 208-769-5004.

The cruise is expected to fill quickly and the current status of available seating will be posted on the BLM Idaho's Facebook page.  We encourage you to check the site before calling.

Boarding for the event will start at noon with the boat departing the dock by 12:30 p.m. for the two-hour cruise.  Boarding is located on the east side (Tubbs Hill side) of the Coeur d’Alene Resort with parking in the McEuen Field parking lot.

The BLM encourages participants to dress warmly, bring binoculars and cameras, and be prepared to learn about these spectacular birds that migrate to the Lake during the winter months.  Food and beverages are available for purchase on board the ship.
