MCCALL, Idaho–The Bureau of Land Management, in partnership with the Idaho Department of Lands, will offer the Trail Ridge Good Neighbor Authority timber auction of approximately 4.8 million board feet to be harvested from 256 acres near New Meadows in Adams County. The IDL will accept oral bids only at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time on Sept. 30 at the IDL Payette Lakes Supervisory Area Office, 555 Deinhard Ln., McCall, ID 83638.

“America has significant timber resources,” said BLM Coeur d’Alene District Manager Kurt Pindel. “Through tools like the Good Neighbor Authority, we’re expanding partnerships with states and local communities to support healthy forests, create good-paying jobs, and make sure our timber resources benefit all Americans.”

This sale supports Executive Order 14225, “Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production,” will provide critical supplies for construction and other industries, and support jobs in the Idaho Panhandle economies. The sale would thin stands by removing diseased and smaller diameter or less desirable trees. By reducing the number of new trees and eliminating competition, the forest should become more fire resilient.

BLM Idaho manages approximately 770,000 acres of forest lands and approximately 300,000 acres of woodlands. We are committed to supplying a reliable, secure, and resilient domestic supply of timber. Local communities rely on BLM forest jobs. In 2024, timber sales generated nearly $21 million for Idaho rural economies. BLM’s forestry program supports economic security, reduces risk of wildfire, conserves fish and wildlife habitat, and decreases costs of energy production.
