BLM Alaska seeks comments on proposal to offer guided hiking near Ketchikan

GLENNALLEN, Alaska – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public comments on a request for a Special Recreation Permit from Mindfulness Rainforest Adventures to conduct guided hiking tours on BLM-managed lands in Ketchikan.
The company plans to offer guided hiking along the Carlanna Lake Trail from April through October. The maximum group size would be eight hikers with tours occurring one- to three-times daily, depending upon demand.
The BLM welcomes and values diverse views about the public land it manages on behalf of the American people. Comments on the proposal will be accepted through February 10, 2020.
