BLM Alaska holds Open House to provide information on Haines area planning effort

GLENNALLEN, Alaska – The Bureau of Land Management will hold an Open House June 20 at the Chilkat Center for the Arts in Haines, Alaska for the Supplemental Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Haines Amendment to the Ring of Fire Resource Management Plan. The amendment would affect recreation on approximately 326,000 acres of BLM-managed public lands in the Haines Area.
The Open House will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be a 30-minute presentation on the preferred alternative at 7 p.m. BLM staff will be on hand to answer questions. In addition, participants can submit written comments during the Open House.
Copies of the Supplemental Draft EIS are available on the BLM’s ePlanning web page. A link to the page can be found on the project website at www.blm.gov/alaska/rof-haines-amendment. In addition, copies are available for review at the following locations:
