Information Bulletin:

This information bulletin announces the availability of and describes the recent updates to the Structures Data Standard Data Standard Version 3.

This dataset depicts structures on maps and provides information useful to the maintenance of structures on the ground, and for reporting on construction activity. The BLM, as a public land management agency, is required to identify land-altering actions including construction. Proposed structures must undergo planning at some level. The National Environmental Protection Act cumulative effects analysis requires accounting for both completed and proposed structures.

The following changes were applied:

  • Reformatted document to meet Section 508 standards and match the latest data standard template.
  • Updated General Information section to add language that was previously in a different section of the document.
  • Updated FOIA category, keywords, and subject function codes.
  • Updated architecture diagrams.
  • Added field aliases, edit tracking fields, default values for required fields, and constraint rules.
  • Modified BLM_ORG_CD to show it is auto calculated on data entry.
  • Changed STRCT_DT, MAINT_DT, ARCH_CLEAR, BOT_CLEAR, and WILD_CLEAR data type to Date.
  • Added date accuracy fields for STRCT_DT and MAINT_DT.
  • Added attribute rules to editing procedures.
  • Changed field TRTLINK to TRT_GUID to correspond to changes in the Treatments standard.
  • Dropped STRCT_ID in favor of using STRCT_GUID as the unique identifier.
  • Changed document cover photo.
