Subject: Range Monitoring Spatial Data Standard Version 2.0

This information bulletin announces the availability of and describes recent updates to the Range Monitoring (RGE_MON) Spatial Data Standard. Implementation of the updated standard in the GIS edit environment will be coordinated with updates to the S1 Mobile Application which supports field collection of this theme.

Changes to the standard support the ability to select from predefined plant code options for Line Point Intercept (LPI), provide the ability to mark dead plants in LPI, renames attributes and their associated alias to be more logical, and removes unused attributes and domains. The following changes were applied:

  • Renamed WILDLIFE_SEASON to LIVESTOCK_WILDLIFE_SEASON and updated alias to "Livestock/Wildlife Season of Use"
  • Changed ALLOT_NR, ALLOT_NM from optional to required
  • Changed dom_LIVESTOCK_ANIMAL_TYPE domain code from cow to cattle
  • Removed codes and values AVAILABILITY and HEDGING from COLE_BROWSE_DATA_TBL
  • Added attributes TOP_CANOPY_DEAD, LOWER_1_DEAD, LOWER_2_DEAD, LOWER_3_DEAD, SOIL_SURFACE_PC_DEAD to LPI_INFO_TBL
  • Added attributes TOP_CANOPY_DEAD, LOWER_1_DEAD, LOWER_2_DEAD, LOWER_3_DEAD, SOIL_SURFACE_PC_DEAD to LPI_DATA_TBL
  • Removed domains dom_BROWSE_AVAILABILITY and dom_HEDGING
  • Addition of domain dom_USDA_PLANTS_LPI

Additional minor edits were made to enhance the overall clarity and consistency with Oregon data framework data management practices. The revisions were made under the direction of the State Data Administrator.
