Subject: Fiscal Year (FY) 2008 Nevada Cultural and Paleontological Resources Management Workshop

DD: 03/07/08

The FY 2008 Nevada BLM Nevada Cultural and Paleontological Resources Management Workshop will be held April 9-10, 2008, at the Airport Plaza Hotel in Reno.

The workshop will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, and end at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 10. Please arrange your travel accordingly.

Twenty rooms are reserved for workshop participants at the Airport Plaza for Wednesday, April 9 through Thursday, April 10 (two nights). All rooms are $77.00 per night plus 12% tax ($9.24) for a total of $86.24. To reserve your room at the special government group rate, call the Airport Plaza at 775-348-6370 or 1-800-648-3525. Be sure you are speaking with the Airport Plaza property and ask to make an in-house reservation under group code “BLM.” Make your reservations as soon as possible, but no later than March 12, 2008, as rooms are not guaranteed beyond this date. If you find the need to cancel, you must give at least 24 hours prior notice to avoid one night’s room charge with taxes. The per diem rate for Reno is $153 per day (lodging $104, M&IE $49).

The target groups for this workshop are cultural resources specialists and tribal liaisons/coordinators. A special invitation is extended to managers in all offices who are interested in or involved with Nevada’s cultural and paleontological resources programs. Please provide a list of workshop participants to Tom Burke in the Nevada State Office via FAX (775-861-6712) or Lotus Notes no later than Friday, March 7, 2008.

The FY 2008 Nevada Cultural and Paleontological Resources Workshop will provide training and information in a number of program areas. Field Offices should submit topics for possible agenda items to Tom Burke in the Nevada State Office via FAX (775-861-6712) or Lotus Notes, no later than Friday, March 7, 2008. Please make an effort to identify issues and concerns that you feel would be appropriate as agenda items. A final agenda will be assembled from the topics submitted and will be sent to workshop participants prior to the workshop.
