Subject: Allocation of FY07 1050 Funds

The Nevada Bureau of Land Management’s cultural resources management (CRM) program is on the verge of implementing some important changes in how it does business. This includes a new system known as CRMTracker. The system, under development through FY06 by a contractor, is to be available October 1, 2006. This system will initiate our tracking of fieldwork authorizations, reporting accomplishments, and project status in Subactivity 1050, using an online format. In addition, the State Protocol Agreement with the Nevada State Historic Preservation Office is under revision and changes may be in place by that time. These and other topics would provide the basis for valuable discussion.

In anticipation of these events, the Nevada State Office has reserved a room at the biennial Great Basin Anthropological Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday, October 19, 2006, from 8-11 a.m. for the purpose of introducing its cultural resources specialists to these topics of discussion. Field offices should anticipate providing related travel costs for their cultural resources specialists to attend this meeting as part of the FY07 1050 directed funds.

Questions should be directed to Tom Burke at 775/861-6415.
