Update to the Idaho Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Special Status Animal and Plant Lists

ID-IB-2016-003
Information Bulletin

This Information Bulletin transmits an updated version of the Idaho BLM Special Status Animal and Plant species lists.  Recent determinations by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) have found the following species not-warranted for listing under the Endangered Species Act, and therefore candidate status no longer applies:

•    Goose Creek Milkvetch
•    Columbia Spotted Frog (Great Basin Population)
•    Greater Sage-Grouse
•    Southern Idaho Ground Squirrel

These species will continue to be managed as Idaho BLM Sensitive Species.  In accordance with Instruction Memorandum ID-2015-009 Change 1, the Idaho Special Status Species list can be updated as needed to reflect official species status changes implemented by FWS.
