Subject:             Updates to Forestry Manual and Handbook Release Numbers

This Information Bulletin (IB) is to update the release numbers on some of the Forestry Manuals and Handbooks. Directives uses release numbers to keep track of the issuance of Manuals and Handbooks.

The sequence release number consists of two numbers; the first number corresponds with the first digit of the subject code series and the following number is the next unused number of the sequential order.

It has been recently discovered that some release numbers within the Forestry Manuals and Handbooks have been skipped or duplicated. To continue properly identifying Manuals and Handbooks, some of the previously released policies must be renumbered. Below is a list of the updated transmittal release numbers for the affected policies. The updated versions are available online.

Rel. 5-150 was skipped, unused, and will remain as such.

Rel. 5-151 (06/18/1992) is H-5460-1 Sales Administration

Rel. 5-152 (05/17/2022) is H-5460-1 Sales Administration but will now be unused. Refer to Rel. 5-164.

Rel. 5-153 (06/18/1992) is H-5470-1 Contract Modification-Extension-Assignment and (01/19/2023) H-5420-1 Preparation for Sale. Rel. 5-153 will remain H-5470-1 Contract Modification-Extension-Assignment.

Rel. 5-154 (03/20/2023) is H-5450-1 Timber Sale Award of Contract. Rel. 5-154 will now be unused. Refer to Rel. 5-167.

Rel. 5-155 (08/28/1992) is H-5490-1 Contract Termination

Rel. 5-156 was skipped, unused, and will remain as such.

Rel. 5-157 (08/28/1992) is H-5480-1 Contract Violations-Suspension-Cancellation; Settlement Of Uncompleted Contract

Rel. 5-158 (10/28/1993) is H-5400-2 Timber Sale Information System.

Rel. 5-159 was skipped, unused, and will remain as such.

Rel. 5-160 (05/28/2014) is H-5400-2 Timber Sale Information System (deletion of 5-158)

Rel. 5-161 (07/07/2015) is MS-5716 Protective Measures

Rel. 5-162 (06/02/2016) is MS-5920 Stewardship Contracting

Rel. 5-163 (08/15/2017) MS 5300, Release of Timber Measurement and (07/25/2022) is MS 5920 Stewardship End Results Contracting Projects. Rel. 5-163 will remain (08/15/2017) MS 5300, Release of Timber Measurement.

Rel. 5-164 will now be (05/17/2022) H-5460-1 Sales Administration

Rel. 5-165 will now be (07/25/2022) MS 5920 Stewardship End Results Contracting Projects

Rel. 5-166 will now be (01/19/2023) H-5420-1 Preparation for Sale

Rel. 5-167 will now be (03/20/2023) H-5450-1 Timber Sale Award of Contract
