We are pleased to announce the winners of the BLM’s 2019 Making a Difference National Volunteer Awards for outstanding volunteer service.  The 2019 awardees and their BLM nominating offices are:

  • Tracy Greenwood, Lifetime Achievement, Mother Lode Field Office (CA)
  • Walt and Kathy Horsfall, Lifetime Achievement, Safford Field Office (AZ)
  • Phil and Chriscinda Jamison, Lifetime Achievement, Northeastern States District (ES)
  • Thomas Parkinson & Peter Kearns, Outstanding Achievement, Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument (AZ)
  • Pedal United Chapter of IMBA, Group Excellence, Billings Field Office (MT)
  • Blake Ramos-Manz, Sergio Ramos-Manz, and Dylan Brennan, Outstanding Achievement, Wild Rivers Recreation Area (NM)
  • Roy Thornton, Outstanding Achievement, Cottonwood Field Office (ID)

A national panel of BLM specialists and partner organization representatives selected the winners for their exceptional contributions to conservation and management of public lands.  We thank our colleagues from all the offices that submitted nominations. For your information, we have attached summaries of our winners’ accomplishments. 

This year’s winners will be honored during a special awards ceremony to be held live via video teleconference on Wednesday May 22, 2019, beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT.  This event will be livestreamed so that all BLM employees can watch it in real time.
