Subject:           Availability of the Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring of the National Aquatic Monitoring Framework as a Bureau of Land Management Technical Reference (1735-1).

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Technical Reference 1735-1 titled AIM National Aquatic Monitoring Framework:  Introducing the Framework and Indicators for Lotic Systems (AIM-NAMF) is now available online at https://www.blm.gov/download/file/fid/17970

The AIM-NAMF provides a standardized approach for the BLM to quantitatively monitor and assess the condition and trend of aquatic systems following the Fundamental of Land Health across the National System of Public Lands.  This guidance is the product of a collaborative effort among the Fisheries; Riparian; and the Soil, Water and Air Programs.  The AIM guidance for assessing the condition and trend of renewable resources is identified annually in the PTA by numerous initiatives (e.g., Healthy Lands, Climate Change) and programs (e.g., 1010, 1020, 1040, 1120, 1610, and 1711).

For further information, please contact Gordon Toevs, Assessment, Inventory and Monitoring Lead, at gtoevs@blm.gov or call 202.912.7202 or Scott Miller, BLM National Aquatic Monitoring Center Director, at swmiller@blm.gov or call 720.545.8367.
