Subject: Availability of Manual 3830 and H-3830-1 Handbook – Administration of Mining Claims, Mill Sites, and Tunnel Sites
This Information Bulletin (IB) announces the release of Manual 3830 and Handbook H-3830-1 for Administration of Mining Claims, Mill Sites, and Tunnel Sites. The handbook contains the procedures and processes for Bureau of Land Management (BLM) employees to follow regarding the administration of mining law cases.
This document reflects adjudication procedures for the management of mining claims, mill sites, and tunnel sites based on current regulations. Policies and procedures outlined in this document may differ from current practices in some offices, and to ensure consistency, all state office employees with mining law adjudication responsibilities must follow the procedures in this document. Accordingly, all state office officials must ensure that all BLM employees with mining law adjudication responsibilities receive this IB and implement the procedures and guidance as contained within the new handbook.
