Subject: Participant Nominations for the National Land Use Planning Conference DD: 03/14/2008

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) National Land Use Planning Conference is tentatively scheduled for December 8-12, 2008. The location has not yet been selected. The information requested below is necessary to complete the Meeting, Conference, Workshop Request, as required by 41 CFR 301-74 and 205 DM 15 for large event approvals and location selection.

The Fiscal_Year 2008 Annual Work Plan stresses the importance of and field participation in making this conference a success. All States are to identify at least one person who will be available to work on the conference organization team. This team will develop and finalize the agenda. The agenda is being developed based on the brainstorming session from the November 2007 Fall Planning Workshop held in Boise and the feedback and input received from the States.

The target audience for the conference is BLM management and staff involved in the land use planning process: development, implementation, assessment, inventory, monitoring, evaluation, amendment or maintenance. Each State Office and Center is requested to provide a summarized list of all staff members who will likely be participating in the conference. The list must include the following for each individual: office, name, title, grade, and job series. State Offices should submit a consolidated list for the State which includes District and Field Office representation.

In addition, representatives of cooperating agencies and contractors will also be encouraged to attend pending any space limitations. To assist in the conference planning, provide an estimate of the number of cooperating agency representatives and contractors that may be interested in attending the conference.

Please send your response to Jenna Sloan, Planning and Environmental Analyst, via email at Jenna Sloan@blm.gov no later than March 14, 2008.
