Subject: Permanent Field Positions for Presidential Management Fellows DD: 03/01/2007
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Department of the Interior currently have several Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) working in the Washington Office. The Presidential Management Fellowship program is a highly competitive, government-wide professional development program designed to prepare individuals for management careers within the Federal government. Individuals hired through the PMF program are highly skilled recent graduates of a variety of master's and doctoral-level programs. Fellows receive an initial two-year full-time excepted service appointment, after which they are eligible for conversion to a permanent Federal government position. (For more information see the PMF program website at www.pmf.opm.gov)
The purpose of this Information Bulletin is to inform offices about the opportunity to hire PMFs non-competitively for vacant or opening positions. The following two BLM Washington Office PMFs are currently seeking permanent positions in either a Field or State Office: (1) Mel Meier, interested in Planning and Environmental Coordinator positions; and (2) Steve A. Smith, interested in Recreation Planner, Land Use Planner, or Planning and Environmental Coordinator positions.
Resumes, including dates of availability, are available upon request from the PMFs. For additional information or to discuss potential job opportunities, please contact Mel Meier at (202) 452-5060 or Steve A. Smith at (202) 452-5129 byMarch 1, 2007. For reference information on Mel Meier, please contact Deb Rawhouser, Division Chief, Planning and Science Policy at (202) 452-0354. For reference information on Steve A.
