Subject: Entry of National Public Lands Day 2008 Projects into BLM Budget Planning System (BPS) DD: 11/03/2006

In accordance with Instruction Memorandum No. 2007-003, “Budgeting Process for Fiscal_Years (FY) 2008 and 2009 Using the Budget Planning System (BPS),” we request that your field offices please request funding for NPLD 2008 projects by entering them into BPS using the attached information form. A sample completed form is also attached for your reference.

Please note that, as in past years, NPLD 2007 projects will be solicited by directive in December 2006, with a due date in February 2007.

We suggest that offices use the number of NPLD projects they conducted in 2006 (see attached NPLD chart) as a guide to the number of projects to be submitted for NPLD 2008. For any currently unknown field on the form (for example, “subactivities”), field managers and/or project coordinators should enter “best-guess” information as a placeholder. Additional/corrected information may be entered as it becomes available.

Should you have any questions about entering information into BPS, please contact your local budget staff. We thank you for you cooperation.
