Since its passage on Aug. 4, 2020, the landmark Great American Outdoors Act has provided significant resources to improve public lands and waters for the benefit of visitors and local communities nationwide.

Volunteer projects during popular Easter Jeep Safari result in delineated routes, protection of natural resources and improvement trails through the installation of 1200 feet of buck-and-rail fencing — eliminating confusion at obstacles or parking, staging and air-down areas.

BLM Montana/Dakotas recognized North Central Montana District employees and a grazing permittee Aug. 16 for their actions to prevent a potential dam failure during the unusually high-flow spring runoff season in 2023.
