Siuslaw and Upper Willamette Field Offices issue joint decision on Special Recreation Permit Program 2025-2027
The Bureau of Land Management Northwest Oregon District/Siuslaw and Upper Willamette Field Offices have signed a decision to authorize the Siuslaw and Upper Willamette Field Offices Special Recreation Permit Program for 2025-2027. The BLM designed this programmatic documentation to allow the field offices to review individual Special Recreation Permits on a case-by-case bases to more efficiently meet the needs of the community. Under this programmatic CX the BLM would issue SRPs for events and activities that would take place at BLM-administered recreation management areas (RMA), as well as publicly accessible roads and existing trails. The BLM would use the recreation management area frameworks described in the Recreation Management Area Frameworks for the Eugene District and the West Eugene Wetlands Record of Decision and Resource Management Plan to determine whether the activities described in each SRP application are appropriate for the requested RMA. The categorical exclusion documentation and decision record can be accessed digitally on: https://eplanning.blm.gov/eplanning-ui/project/2039382/510.
