Norbert well pad gas drilling approved in Uintah County
The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Norbert Well Pad: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0078-EA. The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will authorize four Applications for Permit to Drill to Anschutz Exploration Corporation (the applicant) to drill gas wells. The EA analyzed construction of a new well pad with an associated access roads and pipelines and drilling of up to three additional wells for a total of seven. The project location is on BLM-administered lands in the Black Dragon unit, approximately twenty-nine linear miles south southeast of Jensen, Utah in Section 13, Township 10 South, Range 24 East, in the Evacuation Creek area of Uintah County, Utah.
