National Public Lands Day: Wickenburg Box Canyon Area Cleanup
PHOENIX – Join the Bureau of Land Management and the Wickenburg Conservation Foundation for a volunteer cleanup event on Saturday, Oct. 24 in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Volunteers will help remove scattered trash and refresh the Box Canyon area north of Wickenburg, one of the community’s most popular outdoor destinations. Learn more about the event.
The cleanup will begin at 8 a.m. at the Box Canyon Staging Area about 5 miles north of central Wickenburg along Rincon Road. The event will focus on general trash cleanup through the area. Participants should bring gloves, sun protection, water, and snacks. Two-wheel drive users may remove trash near the parking area. Traveling into the canyon requires four‑wheel drive, as the route includes rough terrain and sandy stretches. Volunteers can register online.
