BLM Updates South Fork Canyon Recreation Closures
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho – The closure for river camping at designated camp sites within the South Fork of the Snake River Canyon from Conant Boat Access to Byington Boat Access has been lifted. The closures for camping at Kelly Island Campground, Wolf Flats, Warm Springs, and all dispersed sites along the River Road remain in effect. The temporary closures were put in place at the onset of the Big Rock Fire and are still set to expire 11:59 pm on Aug. 10 unless otherwise announced. These measures are necessary to provide protection to fire professionals as they travel along the Heise/S. Snake River Road.
Area closures related to Cress Creek Nature Trail and Stinking Springs trail, and all other hiking and biking trails in the Kelly Canyon and Heise areas remain in effect as well.
