BLM to Temporarily Close Public Lands in Iron County for Special Recreation Events

CEDAR CITY, Utah – The Bureau of Land Management announces a temporary closure in the Iron Hills Trail System on October 3, 2026, for the Big Mountain Enduro race, and an additional temporary closure in the Three Peaks Special Recreation Management Area for a Utah High School Cycling League race on October 10, 2026. Public access, including motorized, non-motorized, pedestrian, or otherwise, is prohibited within the temporary closure areas during the effective dates.
This temporary closure applies only to public lands administered by the BLM within the designated boundary and dates shown on the closure map of each order. Privately owned or non-BLM administered lands are not included in this closure.
Closure Areas and Effective Dates:
- Iron Hills Trails System Closure Area: The “C” Trail, Green Hollow, Lava Flow, Boneyard and Black Ops trails - Saturday, Oct. 3 from 12 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.
- Three Peaks Special Recreation Management Area: 5,029 feet of Midvalley Road (see map) and Crater West Spur - Saturday, Oct. 10 from 12 a.m. through 11:59 p.m.
