BLM Proposes Utah/Nevada Transmission Line to Strengthen Power Grid
CEDAR CITY, Utah — The Bureau of Land Management proposes the Silver Rock Transmission Line project that would cross approximately 330 miles of federal, state and private land from Millard County, Utah, to Clark County, Nevada. This transmission line would help connect new BLM geothermal energy projects in eastern Nevada and western Utah to the power grid, making it easier for these energy sources to supply electricity where it is needed.
If approved, Silver Rock Transmission, LLC, a subsidiary of Pattern Energy, LP, could construct, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission up to two new high-voltage interstate transmission lines and associated project facilities to transport up to 600 kilovolts.
This is a FAST-41 transparency project that supports Secretary’s Order 3417 to streamline permitting processes to reduce timelines for critical energy infrastructure, Executive Order 14156 to fight the national energy emergency, and Secretary’s Order 3418 and Executive Order 14262 to strengthen the performance and resilience of the electric grid.

A notice will publish in tomorrow’s Federal Register to open a 30-day public comment period, which will close Oct. 5, 2026.
