BLM proposes sale of public land in Las Vegas Valley
LAS VEGAS – The Bureau of Land Management is inviting the public to comment on a proposal to sell 22 public parcels totaling 233 acres within the Las Vegas Valley through the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act.
Of the 22 parcels that the BLM proposes to sell, nine are within Clark County, seven are within the City of Las Vegas, and six are within the City of Henderson. The BLM also proposes to remove the classification of a now closed 10-acre Recreation and Public Purposes Act lease to make this parcel eligible for nomination for the land sale.
In accordance with the act, 85% of the funds generated by this sale will go to projects throughout Nevada, such as development of parks, trails, and natural areas, capital improvements on federal lands, acquisition of environmentally sensitive land, hazardous fuels reduction, and landscape restoration projects. Additionally, 5% of the revenue will go to the State of Nevada for education and 10% will go to the Southern Nevada Water Authority.
If approved, the sale would take place April 28, 2026, at 8 a.m. Pacific Time, on Efficient Markets. Potential bidders may register for the online sale as soon as the auction website is active, and available parcels may be viewed about ten business days after this announcement. The parcels are available for sale at no less than fair market value, which will be available no later than 30 days prior to the sale.
A notice will publish in Monday’s Federal Register to open a 45-day comment period, which will close April 9, 2026. Written comments may be delivered to the BLM Las Vegas Field Office, Assistant Field Manager, Division of Lands, 4701 North Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130.
