The Bureau of Land Management Northwest Oregon District Siuslaw Field Office has signed a decision on a categorical exclusion document to hand plant Willamette Valley ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa) and Incense cedar (Calocedrus decurrens) to a density of about 200 trees per acre on a 2.4-acre site. The site is located within the vicinity of Hawley Creek and an adjacent progeny tree test site but is currently dominated by non-native vegetation species.

This project is planned in conformance with the 2016 Northwestern and Coastal Oregon Resource Management Plan and Record of Decision. The categorical exclusion documentation can be accessed digitally at Hawley Area Reforestation.
