BLM Idaho invites the public to an Idaho Resource Advisory Council meeting

BOISE, Idaho. — The Bureau of Land Management will host a virtual public meeting of the Idaho Resource Advisory Council (RAC) on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). The meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams and will include a public comment period. The meeting agenda can be viewed online.
The RAC will receive presentations and make recommendations on fee proposals from the Challis Field Office, Pocatello Field Office, Upper Snake Field Office, and the Four Rivers Field Office and USDA Forest Service’s Boise National Forest.
“BLM Idaho manages world-class recreational sites for hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, kayaking and more,” said BLM Acting Idaho State Director June Shoemaker. “We are looking at ways to make these outdoor opportunities sustainable, while balancing the increasing volume of recreational use within our multiple-use mission for generations to come.”
Meeting participants must register through Microsoft Teams to attend. Upon registering, participants will receive an email which includes the meeting link and dial-in numbers. Public comments will be accepted during the scheduled public comment period at 3:00-3:30 p.m. MDT. Time for individual public comments may be limited due to the number of persons wishing to speak. The 15-member council advises the Secretary of the Interior, through the BLM, on a variety of planning and management issues associated with BLM-managed public lands in Idaho. The BLM maintains 38 chartered advisory committees throughout the West. Each citizen-based council consists of members from various interests in local communities, who assist in the development of committee recommendations by sharing their unique perspectives.
