BLM charges new fees at Upper Colorado River Recreation Areas
SILT, Colo. — The Bureau of Land Management began charging standard amenity fees at select special recreation management areas managed by the Colorado River Valley and Kremmling Field Offices on Monday. BLM will use these funds to provide essential services and amenities.
“People come to Colorado to enjoy our outdoor recreation opportunities – and more come every year,” said Colorado River Valley Field Office Manager Lisa Dawson. “We strive to provide our public land visitors with facilities that are safe, accessible, and enjoyable.”
Collecting fees helps BLM manage the increased use of recreation areas and maintain and enhance visitor services and facilities.
“We are excited for visitors to see the significant improvements to the Radium Warm Springs Recreation Area,” said Kremmling Field Office Manager Stephen Leonard. “With better access, expanded parking, a developed trailhead, and new restrooms, we believe people will truly appreciate these enhancements.”
Fee Prices
The standard amenity day use fee (paid onsite) is $5 for motorcycle, bicycle/walk-in; $10 per vehicle (1-15 passengers); and $20 for high-capacity vehicles (15+ passengers). The America the Beautiful Pass will cover the standard amenity day use fee.
An Upper Colorado River SRMA season pass is also available for $50 per season (April 1-Nov. 30) and is valid at all day use fee sites within the combined Upper Colorado River SRMA. The pass is good for any one of the following: motorcycle, bicycle/walk-in, or vehicle (one car, van or high-capacity vehicle). People can purchase a season pass at both field offices.
