BLM approves Yergensen Oil Wells near Myton in Duchesne County
The BLM Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Yergensen Oil Wells: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0118-EA. The Responsible Official signed a decision record under which the BLM will authorize six Applications for Permit to Drill to Fourpoint Resources LLC (the applicant) to drill oil wells to produce from existing federal mineral leases. The well pad, access roads, and pipeline corridor would be constructed on private land regardless of the BLM decision in order to drill two wells producing from private minerals and are therefore not part of the federal action subject to this decision. The project location is on split estate lands in the North Myton Bench unit, located north of Myton city, Duchesne County, Utah (Township 3 South, Range 1 West, Section 18).
