BLM Approves Wild Horse Management Plan for the Jackson Mountains Herd Management Area
WINNEMUCCA, Nev. – The Bureau of Land Management approved the plan for how wild horses will be managed within the Jackson Mountains Herd Management Area in Humboldt County, located approximately 30 miles northwest of Winnemucca.
The area includes 257,395 acres of public land managed by BLM, as well as 7,579 acres of mixed private and other public lands. The environmental assessment analyzed the direct, indirect, and cumulative effects of implementing the herd management area plan on the lands, resources, and wild horses within the HMA.
