The BLM Approves up to 12 Gas Wells at the Knight Well Pad in Utah
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Vernal Field Office has issued an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Knight Well Pad: DOI-BLM-UT-G010-2026-0138-EA. The Responsible Official signed a decision record approving four Applications for Permit to Drill authorizing Anschutz Exploration Corporation (the applicant) to horizontally drill gas wells from the Knight Well Pad. The EA analyzed effects of constructing the well pad with associated access roads and pipelines and drilling of eight additional wells in the future for a total of twelve. The project location is on BLM-administered land approximately 46 linear miles south of Vernal, Utah in Sections 3 and 10, Township 12 South, Range 23 East, S.L.B.&M. in Uintah County, Utah.
